slippingandsliding asked: I hope you guys get a second season and that you have Jean Smart back too; she and Shatner are brilliant together.

Thanks so much.  We’re hoping for all of those things, too, and couldn’t agree more that Shatner-Smart make a great team. Thanks for watching!

Good night, sweet $#*!  … for now.  Production has wrapped on Season One.  If you’re reading this before 2/17/2011, don’t forget to watch our season one finale at 8:30/7:30c.  Here’s to getting a Season Two soon.  Thank you to everyone who tuned in!

Next week, we film the final episode of Season 1 of $#*! My Dad Says.  Everyone is very hopeful that a second season will happen, but TV is a volatile business, and you never know until you know.  So, to kick off the campaign for a second season — you can never start two soon — here’s a poster to let your friends and family know who you’ll be voting back to television next season.

Some of you tweeted and emailed about wanting an “I WANT CORN” poster from the “Corn Star” episode.  Pete Flynn, our prop master, was kind enough to furnish us with a digital copy.  So let everyone know you are in support of Ed Goodson and his corn by printing out a copy at home.

slippingandsliding asked: Hey, will Jean Smart be in anymore episodes and if so, when are the tapings? Thanks guys!

Hi there. Yes Jean Smart will be in more episodes, and tapes her next one this upcoming Tuesday, January 18th.  That’s all we can tell you at this point.  Thanks for the support!

That’s a wrap on Episode #114!  We just finished taping our last production before the holiday hiatus, and are very happy with how it went down.  Guest star Jean Smart was fantastic as Ed’s other next door neighbor, the high strung Homeowners Association Vice President Rosemary Pernworth. And Rachel Harris was hilarious as the caucasian-yet-ethnically-ambiguous anchorwoman Soledad Cho.  Look for the episode, entitled “Corn Star” to air in February. (And get ready to see a lot more Jean Smart, who’ll play an important role in this season’s arc.  (Pictured above: Script coordinator Steve G. looks on as the props team makes some last minute adjustments.)

Our neighbor, The Mentalist.  One of the perks of working on the Warner Bros. lot is the occasional random encounter with the filming of another show.  Any given day, a stroll to the commissary or Starbucks means a chance encounter with the likes of Chuck, Sheldon Cooper, or, in the particular case above, psychic investigative consultant Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) getting out of his classic car to chat up some police officers.  Not pictured is the predominantly male writing staff of $#*! My Dad Says, standing behind the camera, staring at Simon Baker and hating our nebbish, out-of-shape selves.
